The National Dachshund Races Official Rules 2008!


The National Dachshund Races Official Rules, Application Forms and AwardsAs in any Race or Event of this nature, Rules and Regulations must apply. Here at weinerrace.com and The National Dachshund Races, this is no exception. Below is a list of our rules that we not only ask you follow, but we do enforce them as well!

 

If EVERYONE follows the rules, all are assured a GREAT TIME!

 

SPECIAL NOTICE FOR ALL ENTRANTS! REGISTRATION IS NOW $5.00 AND IF PAID THROUGH PAYPAL OR MAILED IN, MUST BE RECEIVED BY AUGUST 01, 2008.

 

ANY ENTRIES AFTER AUGUST 01, 2008 MUST BE MADE AT THE GATE AND THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT A SLOT WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR THE RACE OF YOUR CHOICE! WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU REGISTER EARLY. THE AVAILABILITY TO REGISTER ONLINE VIA PAYPAL WILL BE UP SHORTLY!

 

IN ADDITION:

 

    • Any-one can enter the adult race on Race Day!

    • If you wait until race day, you will be charged $1.00 more and your Doxies name will not be listed on the website or in the program!

    • Your Doxie will be put in any heat that is available - NO GUARANTEE IS MADE ONE WILL OPEN!

    • Your Doxie will not get a certificate of coming to the races!

    • When you Pre-register, your Doxie will get on the web site, program and be put in a heat with those of the same age or weight!

Here are The National Dachshund Races Rules For 2008!


  1. All Doxies need to be registered by a registration form either from the web site or by a form found at various local establishments.

  2. All Doxies need to be checked in at the registration tables and have an ID that will be provided or they will not be acknowledged to participate.

  3. All Doxies will need their shot records.

  4. Registration tables opens at 10:00am and closes at 12:45pm. - Please Check The Event Times Listed On The Right!

  5. Absolutely no selling any kind of drugs.

  6. Absolutely no selling any kind of alcohols.

  7. Absolutely no selling any weapons of any type of material.

  8. Absolutely no selling any puppies or adult dogs of any breeds.

  9. Absolutely no selling any creature of any age or size or breeds.

  10. Absolutely no political campaigning of any sorts.

  11. All owners must sign the event form or a disqualification happens without a refund.

  12. Please have all your medications, there will be no registered doctor or nurse on hand.

  13. All creatures great and small shall clean up after themselves; we have no janitors on hand.

  14. All creatures great and small shall have the opportunity to enjoy themselves.

 



What are the Events and what do they consist of?


  1. "Seniors Race" is 20 feet in length, and only for Doxies 9-years of age and older. Seniors Race is an event in honor of Nancy Stanbery.

  2. "Last Chance Race" is 35 feet in length, and open for any aged Doxie, and can only be entered on event day. Last Chance Race is an event in honor of a Doxie that came to me in her last years on earth. The feel between the 2 of us was "This is the Last Chance to enjoy life."

  3. "Adult Race" is 35 feet in length, and open to any adult 1 year of age or older - The Doxies will challenge each other categorized by age and weight.

  4. "Puppy Race" is 20 feet in length, and open for Doxies under 1 year of age.

  5. "Best Nose" is a timed event of the Doxie to find a treat with its nose.

  6. "Best Dressed Female" is a judging event to see which female Doxie has the best outfit on.

  7. "Best Dressed Male" is a judging event to see which male Doxie has the best outfit on.

  8. "Group" is a judging event for 2 or more Doxies to see which Doxies are dressed the same.

  9. "Look A-Like" is a judging event to see which Doxie and Human Look-A-Like. Imaginative and creative outfits are strongly encouraged!

  10. "Longest" is a judging event to see which Doxie is the Longest.

  11. "Largest" is a judging event to see which Doxie is the Largest.

  12. "Oldest" is a judging event to see which Doxie is the Oldest.

  13. "Short Coat" is a judging event to see which Doxie has the Shortest Coat.

  14. "Long Coat" is a judging event to see which Doxie has the Longest Coat.

  15. "Wire Coat" is a judging event to see which Doxie has the Most Wiry Coat.

  16. "Smallest" is a judging event to see which Doxie over 1-year of age is the Smallest.

  17. "Mayor's Cup" is a timed event for the Doxie to do an obstacle course.

  18. "P.K.D. Race" is a 35 feet in length and open for any aged Doxie.

 

    • All winning Doxies receive a medal

    • Only Doxies that were pre-registered in the "Adult Races" prior to Event Day that wins a medal will be allowed to race for the Grand Champion Trophy and Reserve Champion Trophy in the Championship Race.

We hope to see you at the 'National Dachshund Races' - Friday 08/29/08 5-7 p.m. - Saturday 08/30/08 1-7 p.m. - Sunday 08/31/08 1-7 p.m. and Monday (Labor Day) 09/01/08 1-5 p.m. for the 'Champion of Champions Race' --- We do not promote racing for profits, only for the thrill of excitement to watch your Doxie participate in challenging other Doxies --- Please enjoy yourself at all events you go to and make sure you & your Doxie stays safe!




LOCATION & DATES


    The National Dachshund Races 2008 is happy to announce that the prestigious event will be moving to the BEAUTIFUL CLEVELAND SUBURB OF BEREA, OHIO, where it will be one of the featured attractions in the city's Labor Day weekend Oktoberfest celebration. The Oktoberfest is held at the Berea Fairgrounds.

    Interested weiners will be able to preregister online

     

    QUALIFIERS

     

    Friday 08/29/08 5-7 p.m.

    Saturday 08/30/08 1-7 p.m.

    Sunday 08/31/08 1-7 p.m.


Each day will have a senior, adult, and puppy champion. The first place finishers in each division will return to race in the Monday Labor Day final.


Monday 09/01/08 1-5 p.m. Champion of Champions Race

 

The top three dogs in each division return to determine the
"Champion of Champions"

of their respected division. There will also be judge awarded trophies for:
"Best Dressed Weiner"
and "Overall Champion"
