Some people - very special people like Nancy can never be replaced. They can only be remembered for the rich, full life she lived. The things she accomplished through the years. For the times she made us laugh. For the times she comforted us when we cried. For her thoughtfulness, her warmth, and her unselfishness. And she will be especially be remembered for making a such a positive difference in so many people's lives.

Nancy helped with the first and second races. Without her help, hand-holding, her encouragement, and herself, there would not be the race there is today. It would take me all day and most of the night to write all the things that we did together to make the races possible.

To Honor my friend Nancy Stanbery, the Senior Race is dedicated to her.

As for me, I am proud to have known her and to call her my friend. Not a day goes by and I miss her so.

My Love & Deepest Respect Forever

Rainbows Bridge

Rainbows Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water, and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...

*SPECIAL NOTE* - IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING
A DACHSHUND AS A COMPANION!

When we brought Ally into our home, we were unaware of the greater risk of genetic defects inherent to puppy mill pets. I wish we knew then what we know now. These puppy mills are all around us.

Ally was indeed a puppy mill dog disguised as a "How much is that doggy in the window". While she provided great love and happiness to us, her end was not pleasant. Her pain, lots of love and prayer, thousands of dollars, and then heartache. You do not have to face what we have.

We respectfully ask that you consider not purchasing a dog or cat from a pet store without fully researching it for this reason. We encourage you to seriously consider the adoption or rescue from a reputable shelter or animal rescue league. You will find many fine companions are available as we did. There may also be a qualified breeder in your area. Both options will have an experienced staff on hand to assist you in making the best fit for your lifestyle. This is a decision you will not regret later!

A pet is for life and ALL pets deserve a GOOD home!

Our Companions ask so little and give us so much!

If you have a picture or information on our missed friends, please forward it to the webmaster!

How God Made Dachshund's

God made a little Doxie to brighten up our day.

He took a bit of sunshine, laughter, love, and play.

And rolled it up in a sausage shape just right for a hug,

with bright eye's full of mischief in its little mug.

With little paws a pattering's, to take it here and there.

And a cold wet nose, but then he thought "Oh what about the hair?"

Shall I make it long and silky? or wiry, that's so sweet,

or make it simple, and have it smooth and staying so neat.

And all the creatures great and small, the answer came to him.

"OF COURSE" - I'll make them ALL!

So remember that a dachshund is special, from above.

His coat of many colors, is a sign of God's great Love!
